IMPACT Postdoctoral Fellowship

Join our team

Overview

IMPACT, a thriving group practice specializing in integrative psychotherapy, offers postdoctoral fellowship positions in Mamaroneck, NY and Beacon, NY. Our postdoctoral fellows work with children, adolescents, and adults, including psychoeducational testing and assessment. We offer many unique opportunities and a wonderful environment, with supportive, expert supervisors with specialities in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies, and family systems models. We invite applications for full-time postdoctoral positions in December 2024 for roles that begin on September 16, 2025. We offer a competitive pay structure, weekly didactics, multiple forms of supervision, and a warm, collaborative work environment. Incoming post-doctoral fellows work 4 weekdays and one weekend day.

Additional opportunities include:

  • Trainees receive weekly individual supervision. Our supervisors are known for their therapeutic and assessment skills and their warm, intellectually rigorous approach to clinical supervision.

  • Biweekly didactics, a weekly staff meeting, and group testing/assessment supervision with the IMPACT staff are also part of the training.

  • Psychoeducational testing and personality assessment (including projectives) are core components of the postdoctoral fellowship

  • Training and certification in asylum assessments through the Human Rights Clinic of HealthRight International. Trainees will have the opportunity to conduct as many asylum assessments as desired, under supervision. Assessments include a comprehensive clinical interview, review of written medical records, consultation with HealthRight staff, writing of affidavit for the court, and possible testimony during hearings. Assessments are conducted in-person (when possible), virtually, and, occasionally, at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers.

  • Training and coaching using deliberate practice for child therapy, multicultural humility, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

  • Lead or co-lead groups for youth in our beautiful offices - groups include social skills, divorce support, and relationship support for teens

  • Guidance for creating your own private practice upon completion of the postdoctoral fellowship. We fully support trainees going on to create their own practices and encourage them to continue on with patients they have begun with at IMPACT.

  • Opportunities to work with specific client populations including LGBTQIA+ and clients for whom religion and spirituality are important.

  • A family-friendly environment with supportive parental leave policies.

This is an outstanding and unique opportunity for psychologists who are interested in working in a private practice setting with youth and adults and have an interest in research.
