Why IMPACT?

Our practice is called IMPACT - Integrative Mindful Psychotherapy and Comprehensive Testing- because it defines what we do.

We provide psychotherapy that seamlessly integrates multiple treatment approaches. In addition, our practice provides comprehensive testing and assessment for children, adolescents and adults. We offer specialized testing for autism spectrum disorder and comprehensive assessments for educational and occupational accommodations.

Who we help

We work with adults and teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, identity development, grief/loss, body image, self-confidence/self-worth, life transitions, and trauma. IMPACT also offers couples therapy, pre-marital counseling, and family therapy.

We work with children who face challenges in school and at home. These include disruptive behavior, emotion regulation, anger, and sustained attention. We integrate talk therapy (including cognitive behavioral, family systems, and psychodynamic approaches) with the language of childhood - play. Parents are an important part of our work with children.

Our therapists are committed to gender-affirming care and support for LGBTQ+ clients. We have a particular focus on working with people of color and supporting clients from a wide range of socioeconomic and religious backgrounds. All therapy and assessment services at IMPACT are trauma-informed.

How we help

Our therapists have advanced training in evidence-based psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems and couples approaches (including Emotion Focused Therapy). All services are rooted in a social justice and trauma-informed perspective. We train other clinicians in these approaches, teach graduate students, and supervise advanced clinicians in integrative psychotherapy. Our senior therapists have published dozens of articles, numerous books, and speak at international conferences for mental health professionals on a regular basis.

This expertise is paired with a warm, empathic, and supportive therapeutic stance.

Our clients report greater satisfaction in relationships, improved mood and communication, self-confidence, increased insight and understanding of themselves, the ability to implement new coping skills, a better ability to manage problem behaviors, a healthier, new perspective, and hope for the future.
